Miss Kentucky Teen
Since 2006 we have proudly produced Miss Kentucky Teen America as our featured event. As the national Miss Teen America program is taking some time off to rebrand, our desire is to continue to serve the Kentucky pageant community with an exceptional pageant experience. While a few things have changed, our primary focus of investing in our contestants and chosen representatives is as strong as ever! The national office will not host a traditional pageant in the summer of 2020, therefore we cannot promise entry into a national competition. In lieu of Miss Kentucky Teen receiving paid entry into a national pageant, we will award a $1000 cash award that can be used as you wish; be it as cash, an academic scholarship or to enter the next Miss Teen America national pageant when registration becomes available. Cash award may be pro-rated if fewer than ten contestants.
Interview
Ability to communicate effectively in interview. Delegate will have the opportunity to express herself on current issues and attitudes that affect her and her community. Questions will be primarily derived from the resume that you submit on pageant day. You will receive instructions on how to compile your resume in your welcome packet after you have registered. The judges will be looking for a young woman with a strong sense of reasoning, who can articulate her opinions effectively. You will begin with a 30-second introduction in a panel style interview with the judges. Please wear a nice dress or outfit that reflects your personality. No glitzy cocktail, formal or casual attire, please.
Fun Fashion Modeling
Each contestant will model an outfit of her choice. It must be age appropriate and it should portray her teen spirit. Anything goes when it comes to style, but we ask that you please maintain your modesty when it comes to length of shorts and skirts. Outfits that are overly revealing may result in loss of points.

Physical Fitness
Judges will be looking for the individual who is physically fit, energetic and healthy, with a strong sense of self-esteem. A tank will be provided for this category. Contestants are responsible for their own black sportsbra to wear under the tank and solid black shorts. Delegates will be judged in aerobic wear modeling as instructed by producer. Aerobic routines and poses are not allowed.

Evening Gown
Contestants will be judged on grace, poise and elegance of carriage during their presentation. All gowns must be floor length, and age appropriate.

Eligibility
Miss Kentucky Teen is open to girls ages 15-19 as of the day of the pageant.
Scoring Criteria
The Miss Kentucky Teen America Organization is looking for young women that possess the entire package of personality, poise, intelligence, and beauty to represent the Bluegrass State! Contestants are judged in Interview, Fashion Modeling, Fitness wear and Formal wear. All categories of competition are weighted equally.
Important Note Regarding Selection of Wardrobe:
For additional photos showcasing examples of appropriate attire please visit the national website at www.missteenamerica.com. Our state or national office will not approve or advise on wardrobe decisions, so please do not send photos. We suggest you choose something that meets the above criteria and showcases your personal style, and remember that of all the things you wear on the stage... Confidence is your best accessory!
Opening Number:
Tee will be provided (photo coming soon.) Please wear with your choice of denim blue jeans. Accessorize as you wish!
Contestant Resume
Once you have registered, you will receive an outline that guides you in creating your resume for interview. Resumes should be submitted at registration on pageant day.
Optional Contests
Contestants also have the opportunity to compete in Optional Competitions. These do not affect the overall score but allow contestants an opportunity to showcase their strengths and talents off the stage. Optional contests include Academic Achievement, Community Service, and Essay. We also award the superlative titles of Best Smile, Best Hair, Best Dressed and Best Personality. All of these are FREE to enter! We also offer Most Photogenic and Promising Model entries at the door. You will receive complete details on all optional contests in your welcome packet.

Registration and Sponsor Fees (Teen Division Only)
The total cost to enter the Miss Kentucky Teen America Pageant is $300. This includes your entry to compete for our prestigious title, your competition memories captured by A.Osborne Photography (link to download all digital images taken of you during the pageant), fitness wear tank, opening number tee, a spotlight in our program book, and swag bag of gifts! The final deadline for all forms and fees is March 1st.
